Elecgas owns the Combined Cycle Power Plant located in Pego, in the municipality of Abrantes — a natural gas-fired facility dedicated to electricity generation.

Project

The project encompasses the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and management of a CCGT power plant with an installed capacity of 2 × 427.5 MW, located in Pego, in the municipality of Abrantes, in central Portugal.

The Combined Cycle Power Plant is located within the Pego Power Generation Complex, owned by Tejo Energia S.A. The Pego Combined Cycle Power Plant was built on the site originally intended for the construction of two additional coal-fired units that were never developed.

The plant consists of two single-shaft units, each equipped with a Benson-type heat recovery steam generator (HRSG).

The Combined Cycle Power Plant shares several auxiliary services with the former coal-fired power plant, such as:

• access and security
• fire-fighting systems
• environmental monitoring equipment
• auxiliary boiler
• industrial water supply
• demineralisation and effluent treatment systems

Elecgas’s shareholding structure is 50% ENGIE and 50% ENDESA.
